ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: book review – The On-Time On-Target Manager

The On-Time, On-Manager is a story that unfortunately will resonate with many. A story about putting things off until the last minute, sometimes missing deadlines, whilst rationalising, justifying. And making excuses trying to explain (primarily to ourselves). Yes, that’s right, the dreaded procrastination.

The book takes you through a journey of self-realisation (via Bob, the manager) on how to overcome procrastination by developing a clear picture of where you have been, where you are now, and where you are headed and then developing the ability to see how poor decisions can separate you from good results.

You can then commit to real goals and tasks that turn you from a Last-Minute Manager into an “On-Time, On-Target Manager.”

Blanchard and Gottry offer practical strategies any manager/person can put into practice to improve their performance. I’m sure it will improve your life too; let’s face procrastination is not a ‘skill’ that you can compartalise.

But remember: procrastination is fear in disguise, nothing else. So ask yourself: what are you afraid of?

And is procrastinating really really serving you? I don’t think so, and deep down, neither do you.

Ok then, read the book and start practising. And practice in every area of your life. So you too can be on-target and on-time.

You can thank me later.

As I said before, simply does it, and it does it well.
