Hello there, I’m so happy you are here for another of my Behind the Scene blogs. Today, I’d like to give you a brief preview of my new book: Gabrielle.

GABRIELLE

Gabrielle is a portrait of one day in a woman’s life through her morning pages.  The city of London during lockdown the background.

As Gabrielle writes in her morning pages, she is flooded with vivid memories of the past and intense responses to the present. She re-examines her choices throughout her life.

A woman among men jockeying for power, Gabrielle is direct, unshakable and has created a world where she rules alone. She has fought hard for her independence. Yet, she is in search for love and longs to be a housewife and taken care of.

The relationships with the men in her life were made up, as one makes up the better part of life through thoughts and perceptions, realizations subjectively made by the drama of self-created identities.

Gabrielle had so many external selves falling from her like leaves.

But the old self reflects in the mirror, still there, unchanged, whilst the body and life had taken yet another form.

As she stands inside the lived moment, the “continuous present” of her life keeps intruding into her thoughts on this day in London.

Time is passing by relentless.

Can someone escape their self-identity?
