This quote is so helpful to understand that the reality we see is perceptual and, even the most remarkable successes – in art, business and life – all got there with work, some struggle and imperfection along the way. Until the work was ‘revealed’. Or people became an ‘overnight success’.

This is the great lesson of Chapter 18/Week 18 of Art & Soul Reloaded, ‘Art Diviners’ – we are all talented at something, as Grout says, ‘The call for magic beckons us like steam rising from a fresh-baked pie’.

And then she goes on giving a great example with the Impressionists, not just because they were geniuses and are an example of what you can do when your soul is on fire (well we are talking about Renoir, Monet, Pissarro, Degas (to name a few- you can view their work at National Gallery, London) but also because they became allies and supported each other and nurtured this new way of doing art.

Yes, Art & Soul explores how to unleash your creativity but let’s not take this just literally. It is also about rediscovering what sets your soul on fire, your passion (whatever that might be), what you dreamt of being when you were a little kid and go for it – NOW – before you end up with a life of regrets.

Love what you do, follow your passion, and become an expert at it.

This is the exercise for this week: pick a topic and become an expert at it. Just make sure it is something that inspires passion.

Pick something you are passionate about and become an expert at it; the rest will follow! And find your tribe that you can share a mutually supportive journey with.
