THE PEOPLEALCHEMIST EDIT: CHANGE & TRANSFORMATION, BUSINESS & LIFESTYLE EXPERIMENTATION FOR THEWOMANALCHEMIST – GET READY NOW FOR THE NEXT CRISIS – KIM KARDASHIAN IS WORKING FOR ME
Dealing with people at work can be stressful, especially as a people manager. How can you handle a narcissistic personality working for you?
HELP: KIM KARDASHIAN IS WORKING FOR ME
Behind the facade, narcissists are unlikely to be as good as they think, with their self-awareness inversely proportionate to their self-confidence. But, to the outside world, they are the very embodiment of confidence. They feel they have been there, done that, and got the T-shirt. And they don’t need any development of the course.
When things go wrong, of course, it is not their fault. It is a plot against them. This can be extremely frustrating for everyone else in the team, especially if the performance is poor.
Narcissists operate, from a neuroscientific level, from the “primitive” part of their brain, and they are fixated on their own survival rather than others.
Unfortunately, it is not easy or quick to deal with. 360-degree feedback can be helpful, but it can take a long time with multiple “attacks” from different fronts and a few people that can coach/mentor and re-iterate how things are in your own company.
Is there any narcissistic personality in your team? Have you dealt with them?
What difficult personality are you dealing with at work right now?
