Hello there, and welcome back!

Today, we continue the week with the brain-happy-hack list, talking about recognising the gift.

What? Recognising the gift? What does it mean?

Sometimes, irrespectively of the effort we put in, the hard work and best intentions, things do not work out how we envisaged them. There are setbacks and disappointments. And sometimes we get hurt. What about then asking yourself the question: what have I learned from this situation? And what can I be glad about (the gift)?

As I write this blog, Steve Harvey’s Miss World fiasco comes to mind. If you don’t know what happened, in 2015, whilst presenting, he announced the wrong winner for the contest. He then came out and admitted the error on live television. However, afterwards, Harvey was approached by T-Mobile to make a commercial for the Super Bowl in which he had to enact the ” mistake”. Legend has it he was paid ten times what he made for Miss Universe—talking about a blessing.

“Behind every moment of adversity in your life, two things will happen.

There is a lesson and a blessing. Every moment of adversity has those two things that come with it” – Steve Harvey.

So, whatever you are going through, recognise the gift and the lesson. Because there is one – you just need to recognise it. Here is the Super Bowl commercial:
