ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: #SmashYourCeiling, change starts from within – Business & Lifestyle Experimentation for #TheWomanAlchemist – Challenging your own prejudices
Hello again, and welcome back to this week’s topic: singlehood in all its facets.
Yesterday I addressed the feminist angle, e.g. doing what works for you and no one else, including when it comes to being single. Do what works for you and what satisfies your needs and wants and makes you happy. It is all about YOUR choice.
Today I want to touch on prejudices. More specifically, challenging your preconceptions about being single.
CHALLENGING YOUR OWN PREJUDICES
Exactly. If you are unhappy about being single, try to understand precisely why that is. What internalised bias do you have about the subject? Do you think being single after “a certain age” makes you a spinster going down the cat lady route? Have you always been told that after “a certain age”, you should be married with 2.5 kids and a picket fence? Or perhaps you are trying to meet family expectations? Or are all your friends loved up, and you are always the third wheel?
Are you really unhappy about being single because you are unhappy or because you think you should be in a couple (for whatever reason)?
Understand where you are coming from and why, and then challenge yourself.
And if you are (unhappy) and are missing experiencing life to the fullest, join me tomorrow for some talk on the subject.
See you tomorrow x
