ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: #SmashYourCeiling, change starts from within – Business & Lifestyle Experimentation for #TheWomanAlchemist – Choose flexibility
Hello, and Happy Friday.
Before I leave you to enjoy your weekend, I’d like to pick from what I left off yesterday and finish off the week.
Yesterday I talked about the need to practice and exercise your brain to build up and establish a stronger path in your life, new neuropathways. Because everything can be changed.
That’s right. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.
Your mood and your outlook, your self-image and your life. Your brain is a muscle that needs practice. Use it, exercise it and Become Your Best Self.
CHOOSE FLEXIBILITY
I want to put a word of warning there against the key to everything is a glass-half-full mentality, 24/7. Say what? Doesn’t this go against everything you always say, Laura? You might ask, surprised?
Well, no. Not really. I always talk about your thoughts creating your life, about controlling your thoughts and directing them toward what you want to see. I never really talked about emotions. Emotions arise after you persistently think the same thing, which then becomes ingrained and causes you to “feel”.
Everything starts from your thoughts. The key is to maintain a positive “mental” diet.
Nothing about emotions. Insisting on always “feeling” positive and ignoring negative emotions could easily shift into a toxic positivity, and the misconception is that living a happy life means never getting sad, angry or frustrated. Hey, s*** happens.
Negative emotions are signals of where your mind has been, and you can learn from them. And then redirect your thoughts.
Be flexible and adopt a possibilities mindset, allowing yourself to recognise options and try new directions if need be.
There is no half-full or half-empty glass. The glass can be either. Instead, focus on how you are affected by what you see instead and choose a meaning that serves you.
With flexibility.
Have a lovely flexible weekend, and I’ll see you Monday x
