ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: Be your best self – #SmashYourCeiling, change starts from within -Business & Lifestyle Experimentation for #TheWomanAlchemist
Last week, we talked about the paradigms that are currently forming your (mine/our) Self-image; now, it’s time to define and create your new Self-image AS YOU WANT IT TO BE.
You should have a clearer picture of the box you are “boxed in” right now. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G in your world reflects your mental attitude toward yourself – that’s your box.
So, what does your picture tell you? What is manifesting in your life in the form of body image, money, career, family and relationships (love)? And, most importantly, are you happy with that picture?
That is the crux of the matter – your happiness. Now, you might say you are not particularly unhappy about anything, and you are doing OK.
I say that’s great. However, is an OK life all you ever wanted? You/we have only one life; let’s not waste it with “just OK”. And NO, it is not selfish or greedy. Or unattainable once you have levelled up and created a new self-image for the kind of person that LIVES that extraordinary life.
Before we start, did you do all the exercises last week? Non?
This week we will go through each area of your life again and start defining the new Self-image. We’ll follow the same order as last week so you can take this opportunity to do the exercises one day at the time starting with beauty/body image (link to last week blog for exercise here).
CREATE YOUR NEW SELF-IMAGE
A positive body image has nothing to do with how we actually look. It has all got to do with how we think and feel about ourselves internally.
Self-image is acquired by what we hear and see as we are growing up. Now that you have written down all the stories you heard throughout the years and can see their reflection in the mirror, you can put together and build (literally) the image YOU want that will enable you to have your best life.
We’ll use freewriting, this time as a means to “paint your new self-image picture”. You’ll need at least 30 minutes for a first draft.
Write down everything that you want to be – skin, hair, weight, personal qualities. In detail. Don’t worry about spelling or grammar. And do not worry about how you are going to achieve it.
The only rule is to write everything in the present tense as if you already were the way you want to be, feel the way you want to feel, behave the way you want to behave.
Prompt: I am so happy now that I am ……… I have ….. I feel so good…
Now go, grab a glass of wine (or cup of tea) and have fun – this is the beginning of your future self – happy days.
See you tomorrow x
USEFUL READING
“Psycho-Cybernetics” by Maxwell Maltz.
Psycho-Cybernetics is a terminology originally coined by Dr Maxwell Maltz in the 1960s, further explained in this bestselling book. Here, Maltz explains that our self-image controls our ability or inability to achieve any goal.
In this book, you can find techniques for improving and managing self-image visualization, mental rehearsal and relaxation – a prescription for thinking and actions leading to quantifiable results—one of my 4 books of the month.
Available on Amazon.
Change starts from within; that’s why training your consciousness should be your Priority Numero 1 – a daily practice to silence your inner critic.
