ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: Gender awareness – Be your best self – #SmashYourCeiling, change starts from within -Business & Lifestyle Experimentation for #TheWomanAlchemist
Hi everyone!
Welcome back!
Gender awareness is our topic for today. This topic has been chosen specifically after I wrote about the International Day of the Girl Child in our last blog post.
To dive right in, what is gender awareness?
Gender, in recent times, no longer applies to just our physical form. It is rather an understanding that by gender, men, women, boys, and girls have different roles, relationships, and responsibilities.
And while the topic of gender is relative to the individual, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding it. Especially as we move away from the set patriarchy that dictated our roles as women in the last century.
This movement has led to changes, small in some countries, greater in others.
And, as you know, change is difficult; harder to accept when we have lived years and years of our life with a set belief or set ideology. However, in our recent lessons on resilience, we spoke about becoming more adaptable to change at every level.
This is no different.
Gender awareness is about understanding the differences and that it applies a different set of rules relative to the individual and the situation. It is about respect, it is about consideration, and most importantly, it is about care.
Gender awareness begins with choice
As gender awareness continues to make waves, it is up to us to make the change.
Change, however, starts with a choice and it is through that change that we grow into who and what we want to be.
Gender awareness is a broad topic, with a variety of facets to it. You can read more about it here.
As you know, this month is one of change. We must uphold the responsibilities placed on us by various causes, we must acknowledge that change does not occur in isolation.
By tackling issues head-on, we set in motion a chain of events that lead to a better tomorrow.
My wish for you is exactly that: I want you to have a better tomorrow, and if you do, my job is done.
See you soon x
