In our quest towards Self-love and becoming our Best-Self, every little thing helps: sleep is one of those. Well, actually (good-quality) sleep is more important than people realise, helping to keep you feeling healthy.
Additionally, not sleeping well can make you feel tired and irritable. If this happens regularly, it can significantly affect your health. on the contrary, when you sleep well, you feel refreshed, which helps with de-stressing, concentration and learning new things. Most importantly, sleep helps your brain recover and revive itself and allows the mind to unwind and de-stress. Which, in turn, allows your mental and emotional wellbeing to be restored.
To help, try to have a bedtime routine:
- Go to bed at a set time.
- Remove distraction, like your TV, computer and phone,
- Avoid caffeine and alcohol as they can keep you awake ( that, unfortunately, includes chocolate)
- Do some relaxing exercise, like yoga.
- Stay away from large meals.
