Hello there and welcome back on this quest to become our Best Selves.
One thing I have learned for sure is that to move forward you can’t hang on to the past. Can’t keep looking at the rearview mirror!
HEAL YOURSELF FROM HEARTBREAK
So yes, to become your Best Self you also need to let go of past hurt. Whatever it might be: family arguments, relationship breakups, work disagreements.
Let it go. It doesn’t serve you. Think about this: when you think of bad past experiences you are instantly transported into those moments, you re-live them and feel the pain again ( or continue to feel pain). Or the anger. Whichever emotion. So firstly, you are not in a happy place now even though you don’t need to be. Secondly, you miss out on the great moments and people that are here now. And finally, you are the only one suffering because, most likely, the other person in the argument has completely forgotten and/or disregarded it. You are suffering for nothing.
Isn’t that silly? So, heal yourself from heartbreak by:
- write down whatever it is that is bothering you (swear if you have to/ download all your bad emotions down on a piece of paper).
- perform and goodbye forever ritual (AKA burn the piece of paper).
- MOVE ON
Couldn’t be simpler. Unless you like to dwell in sorrow … I think not.
