Today is Lesson 3 to build self-acceptance: learn from mistakes. So far, we talked about how self-awareness and self-compassion help in building self-acceptance.
Self-compassion is necessary. What you say to yourself is super important. Because punishing yourself damages your psychological wellbeing. Look at yourself like you would at your best friend instead. With compassion and a more loving stance accepting all parts of you. And then, learn from your mistakes.
Lesson 3 to build self-acceptance: learn from mistakes
Failure is not final. It is a crucial part of success. Life is a continuous process learning process.
Success in life is the result of good judgment. Good judgment is usually the result of experience.
Experience is usually the result of bad experience” – Tony Robbins
And growth comes from learning—the brain change with effort over time with time (it is called neuroplasticity). The next time you face the same situation, think about how you could do things differently.
Learn from mistakes and recognise your patterns, and then switch to thinking about learning differently. And, when you notice your start with self-judgment and self-criticism, see how these can be shifted into acceptance.
And continue the practice of doing so until your brain has learnt the new pathway.
