ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: LGBTQ+ in practice – Be your best self – #SmashYourCeiling, change starts from within -Business & Lifestyle Experimentation for #TheWomanAlchemist

Hi there and welcome back.

In our previous blog post, we spoke about gender awareness, and the fact that different roles, relationships, and responsibilities apply to different genders. However, in addition to gender awareness, we must also pay heed to the LGBTQ+ community.

So, what is LGBTQ+?

It is an acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning. These are terms used to describe a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity. You can read more about the different terms here.

LGBTQ+ in practice

Acceptance of a community or a movement, no matter how small or how great, begins with change – and while change itself is difficult, it all starts with choice.

In the case of LGBTQ+, our changes are choice-based, and we must choose our actions, our words, and even the voicing of our opinions if those opinions are harmful, biased, or negative. It is about respect, time, and courtesy. Of course, we all want to receive it, but as you know, for you to receive it, you must be open to giving it.

By giving those around you your respect, your time, and your courtesy in no way weakens you. On the contrary, there is strength in togetherness, in community, and in acceptance of overall choice.

It does not matter who or what someone chooses to love, as long as there is a little more love in the world.

And as I’ve asked you this before: Who is your lover? I then informed you that you should begin by loving yourself, remember that self-love is as much part of accepting and loving others, as it is about accepting yourself.

So, love freely, accept wholly, and cherish everyone greatly.

Until next time x

I want to hear ‘the good, the bad and the ugly’. If you disagree with me or want to provide a different perspective, leave a comment. Tell me what’s on your mind.

Do remember though to be respectful and kind – we can agree to disagree, no need to be nasty. Thank you.
