Many of us struggle with self-love and acceptance when it comes to our body. This continuous love-hate relationship relies on this external ideal of unattainable (and filtered) perfection. And in this continuous battle, we punish and torture ourselves with diets.
I beg you: don’t.
If you are planning to go/start another diet, I beg you: don’t.
Millions of people start one every day – the majority stop because they do not work. And this is not because people do not try hard enough. It’s because most diets are impossible to stick to (unless you live on a desert island, alone and have no life whatsoever). If they worked, you wouldn’t have to keep trying new ones.
How many have you tried in your life so far? I thought so.
Moreover, 80% of dieters put weight back on and more than what they lost in the first place – imagine that?
Most diets promise fast results and focus on restrictions, limiting what, how and when you eat. No, one can survive in constant deprivation. And they make you feel like you failed when the diet doesn’t stick. You haven’t. All the false promises have failed you.
Take a stand, don’t torture yourself or make a commitment that won’t stick. Think of your health first. Treat your body with love and kindness.
And then commit to a “lifestyle” that works for you.
Self-acceptance is the key and doorway to our authentic power and Best Self.
