ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: Be your best self – #SmashYourCeiling, change starts from within -Business & Lifestyle Experimentation for #TheWomanAlchemist
Hello there, welcome to Day 3 of the 7 Day Challenge. How are you feeling today?
If you followed the exercises/suggestions of Day 1 (dump the crap from your mind onto a page, or more) and Day 2 and started your media/news “fast”, you should be feeling “lighter” and noticed an improvement in your mood already.
You see, moving from Self-acceptance to Self-appreciation takes work, and the ability to tune out negativity (internal and external) will help tremendously.
MAKE A LIST
Making a list??? Of negative thoughts? Yes.
What I mean by this is simple: every one of us has habitual negative thoughts running in our mind and habitual triggers.
Some of us get angry, frustrated all the time. Others get anxious or overwhelmed, and so on. And usually, we can count on one hand the things (or person/s, situations) that trigger us.
Firstly, we can practice with the Monkey Mind Exercise (from Day 1) and regularly dump/remove those thoughts. Secondly, once you know where you tend to go emotionally regularly, AND what triggers you, you can recognise when those thoughts are coming, and then …
THE 90 SECONDS RULE
STOP the negative thoughts in the first 90 seconds, and don’t let them derail you. Reject them; they don’t serve you.
And when you move past your thoughts, you can see that the situation (whatever it is) is not as bad as it looks.
Day 3 of 7 Day Challenge talk over. Let me know how you are getting on.
See you tomorrow x
USEFUL RESOURCE FOR THE CHALLENGE
“The 7 Day Mental Diet” by Dr Emmet Fox.
In this concise book (22 pages), Emmet Fox’s challenge to the reader is to immediately deflect every single negative thought that enters one’s consciousness for seven days continuously and so to change their life.
It is easy to read but very impactful and ever so appropriate for today’s discussion. Happy reading.
Change starts from within; that’s why training your consciousness should be your Priority Numero 1 – a daily practice to silence your inner critic.
