ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: Character – Be your best self – #SmashYourCeiling, change starts from within -Business & Lifestyle Experimentation for #TheWomanAlchemist
Hi everyone!
Are you ready to #SmashYourCeiling and become the best version of yourself that you can be? Well, to do that, you must first build your character.
Much like most life lessons and tasks, character is another one of those aspects that develop over time and is easier said than done.
As mentioned in our previous blog about connection, as much as we might rely on someone else having our back, we must demonstrate personality traits that show people we too can provide support. We do this by developing our character.
How do we develop character?
We develop character by being authentic. And if I said it once, then I have said it a thousand times – it begins on the inside.
You must change your thoughts from a passive voice to an active one. What I mean by this is the power you have over your beliefs. In a passive voice, your answer to whether you’re someone that others can rely on will be unsure, unassertive, and even questioning your own abilities. A simple act of putting some determination into your answer can make a world of difference.
I am spelling this out as I have said before and I am saying it again: look in the mirror and say aloud: I am supportive, I am strong, I am determined, I am reliant! Call upon your character.
CHARACTER
You are not limited by just those words – you can chop and change as you see fit. You can improve where you feel you need to and motivate yourself in ways that you alone know will work for you. Believe in yourself and trust you know what’s best for you.
Looking in the mirror and speaking to yourself might initially sound silly. It is not silly to project your voice outwards – especially if that is what your inner side seeks. It is not silly to remind yourself that you are capable, worthy, loved and add value.
If anything, the more you acknowledge yourself, the more you will believe in your ability.
Remember that it is not arrogance if you can back it up – no, that is confidence, and unfortunately, too few people understand this.
Building yourself begins with building your own self-esteem. Like everything that happens on the inside, it’s bound to become visible on the outside.
So, take a moment to talk to your mirror – begin with a whisper, end with a shout. Whatever process works for you.
I assure you, building character is as much a boon towards your resilience as any other.
See you soon x
