ThePeopleAlchemist Edit: Be your best self – #SmashYourCeiling, change starts from within -Business & Lifestyle Experimentation for #TheWomanAlchemist
Self-appreciation and Sef-love are dependent on another essential part of our Self: Self-image, the built-in regulator.
That’s right, our Self-image.
We talked about how Self-appreciation is all about valuing yourself even at your worse and when lowest. And accepting who you are right here and right now – with no judgement.
But this is a conscious activity, e.g. the way you view/understand yourself consciously. So what I am talking about here is the subconscious image.
You see, we all have two images: the one that reflects from the mirror and the one WE see in the mirror.
This, in turn, is determined by the paradigms that run our life (and mind). We are all born without any preconception of what a woman’s place in the world is. Or what women can or cannot achieve. Or what constitutes beauty, for that matter. We are born without any preconceived idea that we need to “deserve” love.
Then, slowly but surely, the mental conditioning from our environment, our family, our education kicks in and, unfortunately, stacks up.
And this forms our subconscious Self-image.
SELF-IMAGE THE BUILT-IN REGULATOR
Self-Image is the ultimate internal regulator: every time it looks like we are about to break free, it will bring us back to base like a thermostat.
And, unless we review and update the image we have of ourselves, all the work towards Self-acceptance and Self-appreciation will reach the “temperature” we are comfortable in. Self-sabotage then comes in. And there we start again.
Your world and everything in it reflects your own mental attitude toward yourself – your own Self-image.
Look around at every aspect of your life – THAT’s your ceiling.
#SmashYourCeiling never sounded more appropriate …
See you tomorrow x
USEFUL READING
“Psycho-Cybernetics” by Maxwell Maltz.
Psycho-Cybernetics is a terminology originally coined by Dr Maxwell Maltz in the 1960s, further explained in this bestselling book. Here, Maltz explains that our self-image controls our ability or inability to achieve any goal.
In this book, you can find techniques for improving and managing self-image visualization, mental rehearsal and relaxation – a prescription for thinking and actions leading to quantifiable results—one of my 4 books of the month.
Available on Amazon.
Change starts from within; that’s why training your consciousness should be your Priority Numero 1 – a daily practice to silence your inner critic.
