Did you have some fun yesterday describing your state with “real” words rather than just using the word “fine”? I hope so.
It’s amazing how clearer things look when we can voice them correctly, especially feelings. Your feelings are telling what you have been thinking for a long time, they are sensory information.
WHAT ARE YOUR EMOTIONS TELLING YOU?
So, what did find out? Your emotions derive from your past experiences and impact your automatic stress responses. Anger, avoidance, and dissociation are all learned responses to past situations. The more awareness you have and develop a deeper understanding, the more you can comprehend your and others’ behaviour. And then learn new responses.
Because when under stress, humans go on autopilot, in a defence mode designed to protect us from being hurt. Emotions/feelings come from thoughts and “muscle” memory. Having a clear picture of your thoughts and thoughts patterns you can predict where your auto-response would go in times of stress. And then learn to focus on the present moment; not the past or the future, but the here and now.
